| The People's Center exists to provide public
education on aspects of traditional lifestyles and histories of the
Salish, Pend d'Oreille and Kootenai people. Throughout the year
the Education Program offers demonstrations and history on
traditional and contemporary life-ways.
Through Education Classes, gatherings, temporary displays,
history presentations and the continued practicing of traditional
events, The People's Center is insuring the perpetuation of their
tribal culture.
The People's Center hosts a number of area schools and organizations
throughout the year with museums tours, art, presentations, games
and history. Native American Awareness Week is held every September
for area schools to experience tribal history and culture.
Registration is required.
Monthly scheduled activities are open and public is invited.
These activities may include, beading, basketry, traditional outfit
construction, movies, history presentations, Native Games, Tribal
Language Classes and story telling.

EDUCATIONAL EVENTS
The People's Center is offering Cultural Education Classes that
are open to the public. Everyone will be responsible for their own
materials.
Fridays - Open beading classes. Come and
learn the different styles and techniques of beading from tribal
artists. Bring the supplies for the project you wish to learn about.
Class time 1PM to 4PM

November is National Native
American Heritage Month, watch for weekly activities at the center I
honor and respect of al Native Americans.
Second Annual Artist Market
to be held at The People’s Center July 2008. Market is open
to all artists. Watch for information in the spring of 2008!
